Deborah Eiland has been married to her husband for over 40 years and have 4 grown daughters. She is kept busy with 7 active grandchildren. Deborah has been involved in early childhood education for 31 years. She is currently working for a non-profit early childhood agency. Reading has always been a passion of hers. However, it was difficult to find children’s books that had characters of color. Deborah decided to use familiar fairytales and slightly change the content. It is her hope more children will read and become excited because they see characters that look like them.

The Girl with the Ebony Locs and the Three Bears puts a modern cultural twist on the old fairytale.
