Deborah has been involved in early childhood education for 31 years. She is currently working for a non-profit early childhood agency. Reading has always been a passion of hers. However, it was difficult to find children’s books that had characters of color. Deborah decided to use familiar fairytales and slightly change the content. It is her hope more children will read and become excited because they see characters that look like them.
